Formula 1 · Decoded as an Economic Machine

The machine behind every Grand Prix — race by race.

Every weekend we decode the race as a macroeconomic system: the revenue, seat-market, brand and host-city machinery under the overtakes. Each GP becomes a page — what happened, what it's worth, what we built. And we score our own predictions honestly, misses included.

Singapore does not host a Grand Prix to make money on tourists — the arithmetic has never worked (roughly S$129m a year of incremental tourism receipts against a ~S$135–140m annual organising cost), and everyone involved knows it. The state buys branding and business gravity, not gate receipts. Which is exactly why this weekend happened: the first-ever Singapore Sprint turned a one-night spectacle into a two-race, four-session weekend — a commercial injection into the format, on a circuit that overtakes badly and in a season where only one practice hour was allowed. On track, the weekend produced a driver result of real historical weight and a model failure of a new, self-inflicted kind.

What we build every weekend

Each race leaves the machine stronger.

A Grand Prix isn't just a result — it's a batch of data, a scored prediction, a macro story, and lessons we build into the engine.

The story

Every race decoded as a macro machine

Host-city economics, seat-market moves, grid penalties as capital allocation, the revenue-position swing.

The engine

The model gets sharper every round

Fragile driver surface disclosed, robust team-level signal featured, quali/pole now a measured surface.

The record

Scored honestly, misses published

Every prediction settled against the market and logged. A miss is a data point in the public Corrections Log.

The live core

Dashboards & reports, generated from real data.

Track Record

Every race we logged scored — model vs market, team-level + driver, hits and misses (from R13, when the ledger opened).
